Learning Programme FAQs

Please contact us for an exact costing of the programme.

OmniMusic’s inclusive disability music programmes are created to support learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Learning Disabilities (LD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Autism (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH.)

Our instrument collection and specialist music practitioners take a person-centred approach to make sure your students’ physical and sensory needs are met throughout our programme.

Most of our participants have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) and may, or may not, have a diagnosis in place.

We mainly work in special schools and colleges and don’t usually work in mainstream settings.

If you are a SENCo of a school with a Resource Base, please do still get in touch with us and we can advise you on the suitability of our programmes for your students.

We work in Stockport and across Greater Manchester Boroughs

We are able to offer inclusive music programmes for Disabled people in learning settings across Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan.

We aren’t funded to deliver school’s statutory responsibility under the national curriculum, but our sessions complement and enhance it — and support schools in meeting the National Plan for Music Education.

You’ll see that our sessions naturally cross over with many areas of the National Curriculum:

  • Listening and responding to music

  • Sharing and performing

  • Playing music in a group
  • Creating sounds and original music

  • Composing using accessible methods, including accessible notation.

  • Using accessible technology

Our sessions help schools deliver the major points in the National Plan for Music Education, ensuring pupils have inclusive opportunities to create, perform, and develop in our music sessions.

Schools can use our sessions to assess pupils against their own curriculum criteria, while we focus on unlocking creativity, inclusion, and enjoyment in music.

  • Cognitive & wellbeing developments for students
  • Social developments for students
  • Upskilling staff
  • Access to professional platforms
  • Access to assistive technology

Each education setting has varying levels of need, so each approach to this programme is very different.

Over 20 years of experience we find that smaller groups allow your students the time to work in-depth with our team to get the best outcomes.

We are here to help you make the right decision based on the needs of your students. Get in touch to discuss your needs.

FamJam FAQs

No prior musical experience is necessary. Our highly trained practitioners will show you how to use the equipment.

Not at all. These workshops are all about expression, joy, and connection—there’s no “right” way to make music here.

There is no limit, but we ask that if you’d like to book for a group of 8 or more, you contact us directly on info@omnimusic.org.uk

The sessions are being held at the new Stockroom community hub in the heart of Merseyway shopping centre. They will be held upstairs in the fully accessible creative studio space. The easiest way is to enter the space from the upstairs mezzanine level (level 1 in the Merseyway lifts) but you can also come in from the ground floor of Stockroom and use the lift.

The Merseyway car park is nearest. If you park on level 1 you will be on the mezzanine level to be able to enter the workshop space.

We’d love to offer sessions for free but as a small charity, we need to charge a fee to cover some of our costs. We have kept the charge as low as we can. For those who need an essential carer with them, their carer goes free.
