Be Hear Now showcase 1 July 2025

An audience of people watching a performance of music at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester

Smiling, proud faces of young people making music and performing for an audience. Young people with true star quality, and pop star mannerisms to boot. Incredible accessible music tech allowing children with all abilities to feel the exhilaration of performing. An engaged, rapt audience, full of joy, listening and participating in music, together.

This was the Be Hear Now showcase at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on 1st July, in partnership with the Bridgewater Hall’s Learning and Participation Department.

The culmination of a year’s worth of accessible music sessions in our partner schools, it was a privilege and a joy for our team to be in the room to see for ourselves the impact of our work.

Participants from our partner schools Melland High School, Heaton School, Pear Tree School and Castle Hill performed songs they’d written themselves, accompanied by our incredible practitioners.

We’d love to take this opportunity to thank our incredible partner schools Melland High School, Heaton School, Pear Tree School, Castle Hill and our community partners Disability Stockport.

We could not deliver our sessions without the support of our funders and we are so grateful for their support: Stockport Council, UKSPF, Youth Music, Arts Council England, The Fore, the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, and of course to LifeLites: we used many of the pieces of new tech granted to us by them in the showcase.

We can’t wait to start again in September!
