Dave and the CMPSR
Dave has complex needs, has reduced mobility and uses a wheelchair. OmniMusic’s sessions provide an inclusive, level opportunity for him to thrive.
He is a very welcoming group member and has a great sense of humour; however, his mobility is extremely limited.
Through OmniMusic, Dave has made significant progress in singing, songwriting, drumming, and leadership. A particularly memorable moment for the OmniMusic practitioner team was witnessing the “lightbulb moment” in Dave’s eyes when he first heard and played the snare drum, realising he had control over its sound and timing. Dave has started using the CMPSR; this piece of AMT has enabled Dave to take his musicianship to new levels. The CMPSR has given Dave more expression and autonomy to create melody lines and play within the ensemble using the small range of music in one finger that he can assess.
While Dave has always connected with music and bands, OmniMusic has empowered him to explore his own musical expression.The profound impact of giving Dave full agency over his musical experience, something he rarely experiences in other areas of his life, has been deeply moving for everyone involved.
