DM Lab Stockport

Last night we hosted DM Lab here in Stockport in partnership with Drake Music and we had such an insightful look into the music making and session delivery across SEND settings in Greater Manchester.

The group consisted of music practitioners, therapists, makers and creative technologists, all from different backgrounds and practices. We reflected on the types of technology and software that the group use in their workshops and what their dream piece of software would look like.

As an inclusive music tech organisation, it’s important for us to reflect on the technology that we implement in our sessions so that we can continue to improve our users’ experience, allowing them to express themselves creatively.

Here at OmniMusic, we are participant centered and we research and create the technology that is needed for the communities we work with. DM Lab allows us to hear the voices of disabled musicians and the people who support them, to ensure that we are delivering the most valuable and equitable music making experiences.

If you are a disabled music maker, someone who supports them, music practitioner or creative technologist we would love to get in touch with you and tell you more about the work that we do at OmniMusic and how you can get involved in the next DM Lab session.
