In 2022, the UK Government launched The Power of Music to Change Lives, a refreshed National Plan for Music Education (NPME). At its heart is a powerful ambition: every child and young person should have access to high-quality music education, no matter their background or abilities. This includes ensuring that children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are not left behind.

Yet, there are 38,000 Disabled children and young people in Greater Manchester with figures set to rise to 60,000 in 2030 (2021 census). Services are struggling to cope with existing need as 52% are unable to find music teachers to suit their needs and only 27% of council music services hold any accessible instruments. (Youth Music)

That’s where OmniMusic comes in. Our Learning Programme is designed to make music education truly inclusive, helping schools deliver on the NPME’s goals:

We provide adapted instruments, accessible music technology, and engaging resources so that every learner can participate meaningfully in music-making. By offering inclusive content, we make sure activities feel achievable and rewarding for students with diverse needs.

Through rhythm, pattern-based activities, and collaborative music-making, OmniMusic sessions support cognitive skills, boost communication, and nurture social development. Learners build confidence, connect with peers, and discover new ways to express themselves.

We also work closely with teachers, TAs, SENCos, and therapists to create tailored music strategies that fit each school’s context. Plus, our CPD training and ready-to-use lesson plans empower educators with the tools and confidence to deliver inclusive music education every day.

With OmniMusic, schools aren’t just meeting the NPME vision, they’re creating joyful, life-changing musical experiences for every child.
