Lights, Camera, ACTION!
4th April 2022Our Song Forge group brings together disabled adults from across Stockport to learn more about music and song writing.
Through our use of innovative technology and inclusive music making activities, our musicians write, record and perform their own music, sharing their creativity with family, friends and our Stockport community.
In order to celebrate the groups creativity and give them an experience of being involved in a professional audio and video recording session, we organised a filming day at The Space in Stockport with an ex-BBC videographer and sound technician team.

The group rehearsed and performed their original piece ‘Cassis on the Beach’, singing their own lyrics and playing solos on their favourite instrument or piece of assistive technology. We also interview each musician on camera, giving them the full VIP experience!
Our priority is to ensure the experience, talent and ideas of our musicians are at the centre of everything we do. We want to promote true inclusion, inviting disabled and non-disabled people to access imaginative music-making experiences through innovative technology. Wherever possible we encourage our musicians to be part in filming, recording and performing experiences, using their art as a vehicle to challenge societal misconceptions about the quality, creativity and excellence of inclusive music making.
